WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

The World Day of Prayer service was held in the Hospital Chapel on Tuesday 5 March 2013.

This annual event focused on the country of France, with the theme "I was a stranger and you welcomed me in".

The speaker was our CEO Mr Joseph Main, who shared his experience in Nazareth of being welcomed in, being a stranger to the culture, language and place and yet being family in Christ. The day was attended by people from Nazareth and beyond, from all denominations.

ONE PICTURE TELLS A THOUSAND WORDS

We’ve received a number of compliments for the front cover artwork which appeared in our Christmas newsletter.

The picture of Mary and baby Jesus called ‘Nativity’ is the work of American based artist Dawn Eggenberger.

The watercolour was painted in 2000 and Dawn has said, “it expressed her experience of connection to the world through family and the love of all mothers.”

Our thanks and appreciation is extended to Dawn for permission to feature her fine work. To view Dawn’s work click on the link to our online newsletter which appears in the news section.

AUSTRALIA REUNION

More than 100 Australian supporters gathered in Melbourne take part in a reunion dinner, organised by Merrill Kitchen, a former doctor at the Hospital.

One guest, Trish Bevan, travelled a staggering 3,000km from Perth in Western Australia just to attend!

Over 240 Australians have worked or volunteered at the Hospital over the past 35 years.

A special thanks is extended to all our Australian Friends who have so far raised an amazing $19,000 for the Mortuary Appeal this year.
