A new collaboration between the Hospital and Al Quds University in Abu Deis will lead to enhanced medical training for Palestinian doctors working in Palestinian Territories.

Representatives from the Hospital and the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will provide doctors working in local Palestinian communities with the knowledge and skills needed to practise medicine.

The Project will also improve access to health care services for Palestinian communities in the West Bank through the provision of a residency training programme which will take place in our Hospital and outreach to other communities. We hope to open a mobile clinic staffed by both Israeli and Palestinian health care workers.

Hosted and facilitated by the Hospital, the residency programme will prepare Palestinian doctors to return to their communities and specialise in needed areas.

Joseph Main, CEO, Nazareth Trust said, “This is a significant collaboration and one which we hope will help to break down barriers through understanding and will improve access to medical services”.
