The Nazareth Trust is offering an exciting opportunity, and what promises to be an unforgettable experience, to travel to the Holy Land and walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Walk The Jesus Trail 2014 will take place from 8 - 14 March and over five days will meander through fabulous scenery starting out from the centre of Jesus’ Ministry in Capernaum and finishing in Nazareth with free time to explore or visit the Hospital.
The forty mile sponsored walk will journey through the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, the Jesus Boat at Kibbutz Ginosar, Migdal, the Arbel National Park, Nebi Shu’eib, the Horns of Hattin, Kibbutz Lavi, Ilaniya, Cana and the Zippori National Park.
A licensed tour guide will accompany walkers throughout and tourist inspected accommodation will be provided, along with all meals.
The Walk is being held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Chapel at the Nazareth Hospital and to help raise funds to continue the Christian Witness work within the Hospital.
To take part, a minimum sponsorship of £1,200 is required, plus the cost of flights to and from Tel Aviv. The sponsorship will cover the tour costs, such as accommodation and meals, with remaining funds donated to the work of the Chaplaincy.
Shaun Newton, Head of Resource Development said, “The walk promises to be a great experience for so many reasons and we are hoping that as many people as possible will join us. We are keen to help develop and sustain the Christian Witness of The Nazareth Trust through our Pastoral Care Committee and would like to be able to recruit an additional part-time chaplain and a further 10 volunteer chaplains and there are many other identified projects which would benefit from support.”
To help with fundraising, the Nazareth Trust has created a support pack which is packed full of hints and tips.
